He makes the clouds his
chariot and rides on the wings of the wind. Psalm 104:3
Who like a small child has
not being overcome by fear at sound of the thunder or the
whiplash of lightening? Even the animals look for shelter
when their instinct tells them that a storm is approaching.
After watching a storm someone said “God has come
out for a ride in his chariot”. This form of “transportation”
(chariot ) is mention is mentioned in several passages of
the bible.
In a physical sense, mankind
with his “ creative “ genius has invented supersonic
cars, bullet trains, space shuttles to reach space and to
break the sound of barrier. Everyday mankind reaches new
goals and discovers greater truths. Not wanting to recognize
God, they search for answers, reasons and even try to explain
the greatness of the creation, overlooking the central truth:
God is the designer and the creator of everything.
Elijah also used this mode
of transportation. In 2 Kings 2:11, mentions chariots of
fire, horses of fire. Elisha his servant saw them in larger
numbers. (2Kings 6:17) At this moment of danger the prophet
knew that God had a heavenly army to protect him but not
his servant whom was afraid. The prophet prayed that God
open his servant’s eyes. When his eyes were opened
his servant looked and saw a hill full of horses and chariots
of fire all around Elisha.
The clouds are another form
of transportation,. Jesus of Nazareth saw a very special
cloud; the same cloud that will bring him back (The cloud
of Glory) Luke the physician on the books of Acts 1:9 recounts
after an exhaustive investigation reports that about 500
people witnessed that a cloud hid him (Jesus) from their
sight. As they were looking intently up, two men dressed
in white stood beside them and declared. “This same
Jesus, Who has been taken from you into heaven, will come
back in the same way you have seen him go to into heaven”.
My dear friends, I invite
you to share our blessed hope, the return of our lord, because
he won’t be delayed. Don’t let the struggles
of life; the desires for riches or life’s vanities
separate you from this blessed hope.
Our Lord rides in his chariots
through the clouds. He names, cal and commands them. Just
stop and think for a moment that everything you see and
know is not a product of coincidence. Is the Creator of
all, whom we call God and that is named Jehovah? He is the
author of life.
God bless you.
